Start crossing your fingers We just might be saved by the bell Because technology We’ve got cloned monkey kidney cells Maybe we can live forever We’ve made what you call “mistakes” For which we won’t atone You can forgive us our trespasses once more
2.
I wanna know why What we think just before we die Echoes so free in canyons deep in our minds That sliver of time we need to forget the ego we feed and our evolutionary survival needs Can we achieve transcendency? I believe it’s for me Not impossible, just purely chemical I look forward to when the moment arrives I will free my soul We are without an identity Universes abound. This religion’s profound Lift us up off the ground and we’re floating gently There will be no more questions when we no longer have an identity Nothing to mourn when you're truly free Now I don’t want to die But I will welcome it with time Will I be free split-seconds before I expire? With every death comes rebirth Drank the kool aid, it did not work I guess we’ll wait to question fate It’s not too late I’ve loved you more than I knew was possible But I’ll be ready to let it all go We will give everything

Why do I see your cell number? Ringing my phone, wrecking my slumber Weren’t you the one to end it? You left me in the lurch deserted Thought I would never stop hurting But I hope you’re okay and That you’ve had a fair shot It would sure be a real pity If I found out you’re not But I won’t give a fuck When you’re down on your luck Don’t come back I’m doing just fine Don’t need you When you left my world was shattered Nothing seemed to really matter I’m still here stronger than before Now you decide to drop me a line Sorry but I don’t have the time After you said your goodbye I thought it was the end I couldn’t find the strength to get back on my feet Worlds kept on spinning and I moved on I found that this world is full of treasures beyond the realm of anything your cold heart offered

Creeped out disconnected voices Investigate scary noises Then defend dumb selfish choices You’ve had quite a time Please be discrete if you spot one I’m told, smoke’em if ya got’em Oh please roll me a big fat one I’ll fall right in line. The path is steep. Gotta dig deep Progress ain’t cheap Don’t look just take your leap It's love not hate Don’t complicate How should I demonstrate it? The marketplace value of a human life is neither here nor there Alarm bells ring The choir sings Well fucking hallelulah That’s not our fault it's your job to push yourself out of your comfort zone Would you rather know Everything that ya paid for Ya never savored the flavor More was expected from you and you know it We fear danger and rejection Take a chance, find some affection Light bulb pops, there’s the connection Welcome to the other side Learning’s just like building bridges No matter what the challenge is Gotta cross over deep scary ditches We can do that But you can’t admit You’re full of shit One chance that’s it Whatchu know about it? I said one chance How bout romance? You like to dance I know it We’re having fun and we’re not done We don’t care We’ll never say our prayers

Was feeling like a fisher price piece There’s tiny voices on the TV Then I started thinking, are they really just talking to me? I can’t remember what they told me I think we might have had some whiskey I went nowhere but I somehow was so far away (Reality is slipping away quickly, but it’s okay) So I take a peak And the grass it is grown. But if I spring a leak Ya never really know I see the oceans rise All empires they will fall But will they be despised? Cause they don’t heed the call Now I’m trapped in this dream but I’m feeling wide awake So I’m leaving my body I will just discorporate Cause my choices don’t matter they have all been made for me I now realize Africa’s really not that far away Why do I ignore real problems in Africa? Einstein realized that space in time are relative Your watch is ticking faster than mine Sounds crazy but I’m going the speed of light String theories that’ll blow your fucking mind What’s it like when you die? Do you need a break from the thoughts in your mind? Once finally awake I was feeling alright Here comes another bump So grab on and hold tight

How Pathetic 03:33
Never took another look Memory just like a coloring book Every precious stone was thy covering Watch it all slowly burn out A flame is a living gem How pathetic my optimism’s become When I choose to run And how far I’ve come From the sad truth That I used to love to hate But I need an escape from it now Once expanding Those walls are now closing in Can’t save face Don’t ruminate Don’t let your last words be of hate Leave all baggage out on the carousel Circling for eternity Wreaking of depravity So I weigh down my duffle bags To hide these blood stained rags It’s true the Mill Creek Marsh is deep enough to conceal the disappointments that build up But it won’t stay buried forever One day the dark truth will reveal itself And on that day we’ll be set free

There’s no comfort without pain Just like flowers with rain So we find salvation through suffering Modern faith For the birds Limit us to one god how absurd Each new day She has doubts But it’s safe to blend in with the crowd All the priests left town Hiding underground Snakes are growing legs Rising from the dregs You can’t bring back. What’s never gone away It's here to stay It’s just that she never did what they said No Tombstones will ever surprise her You thought you could come and go But you don’t even know They’ve been waiting long for you to show Super moon Full dawned light Makes a good time for a sacrifice It’s a sign you fucked up Took a sip from the wrong holy cup Traditions to maintain Gods just ain’t the same Once the fire’s lit Heathens dance ‘round it What will we do about the rain clouds? We won’t hide from it Why can’t all graves stay in the ground? No tombstones last forever No epitaphs or last words Just such poetic weather We’re not going home Presently, there will be no tombstones No tombstones

Way back at the bright young age of 3 He wouldn't even fucking sing his ABC's Teacher told him “row your boat merrily” He just politely clapped his hands and tapped his feet. Growing up never singing a song Never felt his heart belonged in a melody He has my sympathy I’d rather die you see Than become the man who never sang a song Now a freshman in the back seat of the car All the kids singing Madonna’s “Open Your Heart” He mouthed the words with his lips so he’d fit in But his vocal chords were not really moving His mouth was open but the words would not come out You could maybe make him twist but never shout Not a melody He has my sympathy I’d rather die you see Than become the man who never sang a song Could not take it He never hummed a line He wouldn’t speak in time Not even say a rhyme He would never He never sang a stitch Nor did he strike a pitch He never scratched that itch Why won’t he just belt out his voice? It was his choice So why did he refrain? Not even in the rain? Don’t even know his range Could be baritone Could be the world’s best crooner Would not matter We would not know He died at the ripe old age of 93 And at his funeral no one saw the irony When the choir sang “lift your voices high” A request he would have never satisfied He was the man who never sang a song Never felt his heart belonged in a melody He has my sympathy. What kind of life to lead?

Star Stuff 03:52
We are star stuff Pondering stars Thanks to evolution In every way we share DNA You see the connection From prophets faking Girls hearts breaking Planets shaking The whole universe is expanding Life has some meaning we’ll show them Show’em what we’re made of Is recycled stardust The death of a star might seem tragic For its sacrifice but it gives us life Cause what we’re made of Is recycled stardust Love hydrogen and oxygen Go ahead breathe it in These chemicals 13 billions years old You see the connection From God’s forsaken Boys hearts breaking Planets shaking. Did you know some of the stars we see in the sky died millions of years ago? But their light still travels on forever This means if we can shine a light bright enough for it to travel very far then maybe they’ll see who we are But will it matter? No need to hate Get together create Cause this life is short Don’t gotta feel small You’re a part of it all You see the connection From minds awaken Baby making Planets shaking

Kiss his cheek and please wish him well From the forces he’s opposing he may not prevail Though death was past Life had not come Kneeling on grass All withered and gone People are dying Naturally Pigs keep on flying All while the time keeps on passing We just gotta hope that it won’t bring Bad luck to your mother You’re no God But your father was a good carpenter Feel the nails go through your hands into wood Poison in the system’s kicking in All the priests are praying Altar boys won't tell what they saw in the basement locked up Think about it It’s quite fucked up Wash our feet Bestow intrinsic grace. All predictions are now failing the doomed human race The winds have changed The storm is near No hope is feigned What it brought here. But are the lies you tell Enough to go to hell? Take what you can Hide it down deep But the rest will have to keep Disintegrating under a pressure of reality greater than the mind Plus it can bring Bad luck to your mother There’s no God But my father was a good carpenter Feel the nails go through my hands into wood Power in my system’s kicking in All the priests are dreading Altar boys will tell what they saw in the basement locked up Think about it It’s so fucked up

Oddsmaker 04:19
Amazing powers of our wretched species Miracles never come at all Why does God try? Television pressures participants to believe lies Filthy lucre dominates it all This land used to be beautiful green pastures Now you have red states and blue states Please pick a side While the elephants and polar bears hang on for dear life Sit and listen They’ll tell you when you’re wrong Are you satisfied? Jesus Christ died for you. Maybe not for me Well I don’t mind But could you please Stop eating the apples From that god damn tree We’ll be sorry The economy demand concern The masses yearn For love and comfort Things my disciples cannot afford It's time to sell bitcoins Gird up thy loins! Prep our young for good jobs And then we’ll all pray That they don’t hang themselves with their satin dress ties We will accept war, death, disease, famine and pollution As a fair price Fuck is going on? Are you satisfied? The planet’s well fucked But don’t stress about it We’ve created jobs 50 hours a week Earns enough to pay for prescription pills To put us asleep Oh what a time to be alive Are you satisfied watching pigs fly? And who benefits? It is what it is But who really benefits from this?
